3.3 Additional Parameter Types

Depending on organisational requirements, there may be other parameter groups present within Port-Log. They are accessed in the same way as Tides and Met.

Further parameters may include (but are not limited to) -

Visibility

The visibility distance (generally given in kilometers) varies depending on the sensor being used and/or any pre-set or configured limits on the sensor.

Waves

This data is plotted in much the same way as is descibed on the Latest Met detail page.

Currents

As one of the measured paramaters here is direction, directional scatter/rose plots could also be present to display Currents data.

Turbidity

Within the Port-Log Ocean Database (ODB), there are many different turbidity units which can be displayed.

Hardware Graphs

Hardware graphs (where parameters may include battery voltage, enclosure temperature, GPRS signal strength) can be highly useful in allowing for remote diagranostics, or monitoring remote sites where power or data telemetry options are limited.

Please contact OceanWise directly or your Port-Log administrator if you'd like to explore the options for other paramaters to suit your system.
